Writing the mantra daily is called Likhitha Japam. Incalculable spiritual benefits are derived from writing. The following rules must be observed while practising this sadhana.
-
Regularity and punctuality of time must be observed.
-
Physical and mental purity should be observed. Before beginning, the face, hands and feet should be washed. Efforts should be made to keep the mind pure during Mantra writing. Drive out worldly thoughts.
-
Observe silence during the practice. Avoid looking around.
-
Japam should be written in very clear, legible writing and there should be no crosses or marks.
-
Think of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and repeat the Mantra "Aum Sri Sai Ram" mentally while writing.
-
Japam should be constant and must not be changed in between.
-
When you have once started the practice, do not leave it till you have completed the daily quota in one sitting.
-
To keep concentration, one uniform system of writing from top to bottom or from left to right, may be maintained.
-
The Mantra we have chosen is "Aum Sri Sai Ram". It can be written in English, your mother tongue or the language you are comfortable to write with.
Jai Sai Ram
